This album is a collection of songs that feature in the documentary "The Fun's Not Over - The James Phillips Story, directed by Michael Cross. All are written by James Phillips (except for "Johnny's Conscience" co-written with Carl Raubenheimer and "If Johnny Cool Lived" and "Goddess of Depression" by Carl Raubenheimer) and performed solo or with Corporal Punishment, Illegal Gathering, The Cherry Faced Lurchers or Die Swart Gevaar.

James Phillips South Africa

James Phillips, who died aged 36 in July 1995, was a composer, musician, bandleader and the voice and conscience of a generation of white South Africans.
He grew up in Springs, a working-class town on Johannesburg’s East Rand that became a hotbed of alternative music in the late 1970s. His songwriting blossomed through apartheid’s darkest years and into the dawning of a new South Africa.
